COVID-19 and our return trip from Florida in our Fifth Wheel

COVID 19 has created a lot of havoc in the RV World!  Many States closed their RV Parks and Campgrounds.  Early on Full-Timers were not allowed to stay where they were unless they had a 30 Day Rreservation beforehand.  For many of us the rules did not make sense.  COVID 19 is here but in our minds there is no better way of social distancing than being in your RV and at an RV Park or Campground.

As I write this article COVID 19 fears are easing in some States and rising in others.  So depending where you live and want to travel to COVID 19 could still be effecting you.  We recommend to call ahead and know what is up at your desired destination.

Two weeks ago we had to travel from our home in Ogden, UT to Orlando, FL.  We had left our Truck and Grand Design Fifth Wheel at our friends property in Orlando on March 9th expecting to fly back to work on April 2nd.  COVID 19 was in full swing by March 12th!  We finally rescheduled for May 11th.

We wrestled with going back down to Florida during COVID 19 pandemic but we had to get our Rig!  We flew down on a Monday night and left Orlando after loading up with a few groceries on Tuesday afternoon for the 2500 mile trip to Utah.  COVID 19 had taken its toll on travel as we saw few cars and mostly trucks!  We stayed in a Rest Area the first night and an RV Park the second night.  The third night we stayed at the Truck Scales outside of North Platte, NE.  No restaurants open throughout our trip.  Only take-out and mostly Drive through (which our 55' long outfit is not built for!)

We celebrated my Birthday dinner at a Loves Truck Stop at the ARBYS!  Made it home in 4 days and were extremely tired.  Since there was nothing to stop and see along the way we just kept driving and listening to Podcasts!

Our RV Poopchute® worked great in Des Moines when we dumped.  Someone we saw that day said they thought it was a great idea due to the fact that many people are now wearing masks and gloves outside and are germ conscience, more than ever, since COVID 19

We dump our tanks in half the time without getting wet from rinsing the sewer hose.  The ground stays dry with no sewage spilling.  We didn't get messy and the germs stayed away.  You don't really need gloves but you can use them.  In today's times this is a perfect product to keep the germs away.

We cut a piece of RV Poopchute® at 7' that day since we were that close to the sewer line in our space.  The RV Poopchute® package comes in a roll that allows you to determine each time you dump how much you need.

So in conclusion, we made it home and are still talking about the strangest RV trip we have ever had!  The RV Poopchute® was clean, fast, and worked great in Des Moines and again in Wyoming..  Check out our video and remember Shipping is Free!
